TIME OPTIONS FOR WEIGHT LOSS EXERCISES: LUNCH-TIME WORKOUT
You may have guessed that this time option is my personal favorite. I love the boost a lunchtime workout gives me for the rest of the afternoon. Lots of working men and women prefer this option and fit it into their schedules on a weekly basis. For many of us, an hour is all we can devote to our lunch break, so the key to a successful lunchtime workout is the proximity of the workout facility. If you don't have equipment in your office or office building, locate a workout facility that is close by. That way, a thirty- to forty-minute exercise session is possible, which will allow enough time to shower, grab a light lunch, and return to the office. Tight time frame, but it does work.
An added benefit of exercising at this time is that you will find that you eat less at lunch. Why? Basically for two reasons. First, after a workout, you generally feel physically lean and energized. The thought of putting heavy food in your stomach is unappealing. Second, mentally you feel accomplished after completing a workout and want to complement that feeling by eating a lighter lunch. Consequently, you tend to eat less. For those people who eat lunch right after a workout, I recommend options such as a turkey sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and Dijon mustard. Another good choice is a salad or yogurt. Foods like these can easily be prepared in advance at home or purchased at a deli, grocery store, or convenience mart, thus eliminating the time a meal in a sit-down restaurant entails.
Give it a try. You may find that lunchtime is your best exercise option. Remember, you are not exercising every day, so some days you can have a regular sit-down lunch with your friends or business associates.
